Latest Fall Foliage Report



This is the latest foliage report from "Arkansas.com". We'll have a nice weekend to see the colors.

Eureka Springs: Almost at peak now, recommend travel now. Scenic Highway 23 and U.S. 62 are good routes. Scenic Highway 23 (the Pig Trail): ridge tops still green, color has developed in lower elevations. Harrison: Maples around town still have their colorful leaves, and Scenic Highway 7 and U.S. 65 in the Harrison area are colorful.

Bentonville-Fayetteville area: Some trees beautiful, some past peak, others still green and yet to change. Mountain Home/Bull Shoals area is colorful. Highway 5 from Mountain Home through Calico Rock to Mountain View has good color. Predicted peak of color: at or just past peak north near Missouri border, near peak in the southern Ozarks.

Central Arkansas/Ouachita Mountains – Fort Smith, Russellville, Petit Jean State Park, Little Rock: Understory and ornamental foliage, maples, dogwoods, Bradford Pears rapidly approaching peak, with other hardwood varieties not quite changed. Queen Wilhelmina State Park: Valley areas at peak, mountaintops still not completely changed. Highways 270, 71, 272, and 88 (Talimena Scenic Drive) are recommended.

Mount Nebo State Park: Just past peak but good color remaining today, getting many positive comments from visitors. Hot Springs area/DeGray State Park: good color and close to peak, possibly a week away. Hickories yellow, sumac red, blackgum and sweetgum brilliant, maples changing, oaks still green. Predicted peak of color: week of November 12.
