FREEZING RAIN POSSIBILITY

The red line is the temperature profile and the dashed black line is the dewpoint temperature. From the surface up to 2244 m (7362 ft) both lines have the same profile, which represents a saturated lower atmosphere and likely precipitation. This layer of saturated atmosphere is above freezing aloft and below at the surface.

This particular model atmospheric sounding for Siloam Springs at 6:00 AM on Tuesday is indicative of freezing rain. Should this scenario pan out, rain will be falling into a layer that is below freezing, remaining in liquid form until hitting surface objects which would be below freezing, creating a glaze of ice. We will be monitoring this potential inclement wintry weather closely.
