Saturated to the TROPOPAUSE

Check out this "sounding". This is a forecasted model depiction of the vertical atmosphere above Fort Smith for this Sunday evening. The red line is the temperature profile and the dashed line is the dewpoint. When they're matched up, the atmosphere is saturated and precipitation is a good bet. This particular sounding is "wet" all the way to 200mb, which marks the top of the Troposphere, the layer of atmosphere that all "weather" occurs in. Up above is the Stratosphere where air warms with height and the layer that separates the two is called the Tropopause. Have the Umbrella for Sunday... better keep it handy for Monday too!
