A WARM SATURDAY...IN DECEMBER

We are looking for a big warm up across the region this weekend. This is a graphic showing the temperatures at the 850 millibar level. This a great map for picking up warm air advection. The main thing you need to know about this map is that the temperatures are in Celsius. When we are using this unit, the best information to know is that 0°C is freezing. That is the dark black line the extends across the screen. Over our area that dark line stays to our north on Saturday. This allows for a strong southwesterly flow in the upper levels of the atmosphere. We could experience 850 mb temperatures from 10°C-14°C, which is very warm for this time of year. ENJOY!!!
