No Break From the Pattern

Ted and I come in each day desperately looking toward the Pacific Northwest for any sign of a pattern shift. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we're going to see that change anytime soon.
The dominant ridge that has been parked over the west all summer has finally camped out over us. Air under an expanding ridge of high pressure will sink and warm right over the area. The winds will slowly decrease, and the intense sun looks to warm temperatures into the mid to upper 90s. A 100 degree reading is not out of the question.
I included 2 model depictions, one for today, and the second for next Wednesday. Do you see many changes? The ridge continues to hold, and 850 temperatures remain strong, so don't expect a major swing in the forecast over the next 7 to 10 days. The heat is on!
