Perseid Meteor Shower

This Saturday, August 12th, from 11:00 pm until daylight the Perseid meteor shower will be at its peak and moonlight will not be a factor! August 11th should be good too, post midnight. Now here’s the catch, we need to have a clear sky for optimal viewing and in this department the outlook as of now is favorable. So, just where do you look? This one’s easy. Just point your eyes to the darkest point of the northern sky! Up to one per minute may be viewable throughout the course of the event. I’m just thinking out loud here, but, perhaps Mt. Magazine or White Rock might be optimal places to check them out. Let’s hope for a good show.
