Large Hail Threat for Sunday

I just received a report from Scott county where early this afternoon tennis ball size hail was being reported 2 miles to the east of Waldron, AR. Hail this size is extremely dangerous, and needs winds close to 100 mph to suspend that hail aloft. A good indicator of updraft potential is "CAPE" or the value of instability int he troposphere. The RUC model was estimating CAPE values from 3,000 to 4,000, which is across SE OK and SW AR which are very strong values. Take a look at the graphic above for CAPE values across our area.
