Heavy Rain Potential

We look to remain upstream of a healthy trough of Low pressure through Tuesday night. Several disturbances will pass through the base of the trough and right through our area, potentially "training" thunderstorms over the same locations, presenting a localized flooding threat. The Precipitable Water map above represents how much water could theoretically be "squeezed" out of the atmosphere in a vertical column of air. Measurements are in inches. Values look to remain high over most of our area through the entire event and some areas may end up receiving as much a couple inches of rain in a relatively short amount time. There is a chance that isolated spots could get more.

Please remember flooding safety tips. Turn around... Don't drown! Just a foot and a half of swiftly moving water could float your car and just half a foot could knock a person over. Do not become a statistic! If high water presents a block on your regular path home, please take a different route. Floods are the number one weather related killer.
