A NEW RECORD

One type of record that we rarely post are record warm low temperatures. Last night at Drake Field the temperature only dropped into the low 70s, specifically, 73 balmy degrees. Yuck! This my friends is a record. The highest "low" since records have been kept prior to this warm reading was 65 degrees. All we can say is, hold on for a few more days, we're still looking good for a cool down by Tuesday.

On another note, typical overnight record low temperatures are presently near or below freezing! Today's record low for Fort Smith is 35 and in Fayetteville on this day back in 1952, the mercury fell to 29! Perhaps some record cold is in store for November.
