Looking Like a Wet Weekend......

The pattern has become very active as of late. A series of shortwave troughs have moved across the Pacific Northwest, signaling an end to the major summer heat, and a move toward the Fall. The picture above clearly picks out the trough moving across the central Plains. This trough will push the front south.
This weekend we'll be influenced by a cold front that will provide ample chances for rainfall all of the way through Sunday. Since the upper level support will setup parallel to the the front, we'll likely see the front stall right across Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas, just in time for the weekend. Look at the QPF predictions from Friday through Sunday morning.
There will be a flooding potential in areas that have already seen decent rains this early September. That threat looks to remain north of I-40 this weekend, especially along the Arkansas and Missouri border.
