Double Shot of Cold Air
It's hard to believe that we're in the first week of January. Temperatures on Friday afternoon were above average by some 5 to 15 degrees; however, the unseasonably warm air is coming to an end. We should be in the 40's for this time of the year. We're watching two cold fronts that will come through over the next 48 hours. The first boundary will move through Friday night into Saturday morning, providing for a cooler Saturday afternoon.
Another quick moving wave of low pressure across the Northern Plains will drop our second shot of cooler air just in time for Sunday afternoon. Moisture will be limited, so just look for an increase in clouds over the weekend.
