Midnight Update

The 700 (10,000 ft) low track is usually a great indicator of where the heavy snow will fall. This is the RUC's forecast for 3 a.m. The low is centered over the River Valley, meaning it will originate across SE OK before it moves NE.

This low track would give the River Valley a better shot at some heavier snow amounts. A decent swath of 2 to 4 inches will be possible, but higher elevations in LeFlore, Franklin, Logan, and Scott counties may experience higher totals. Most of northwest Arkansas will see totals between 4 and 6 inches. Higher totals across Madison, Carroll, and Newton counties are possible.

Already snow is falling across eastern Oklahoma and portions of NW AR; however, over the next couple of hours the snow will move east and fill in across the viewing area.
