Winds of Change...Milder Air

A strong pressure gradient between high pressure to the east, and low pressure to the west created gusty southerly winds today. In addition to the gradient, winds at 5,000 feet were close to 50 knots, which translates into gusty winds near 40 mph at the surface.

Fortunately, the winds were southerly, allowing temperatures to warm into the upper 40s and low to mid 50s. The windy trend will continue throughout the weekend. Expect highs to slowly warm into the 60s for Saturday and Sunday.
