MONDAY STORM INGREDIENTS

Here is an update on the ingredients taking place today that will give us chances for showers and thunderstorms. We are looking at some isolated storms popping up in the late afternoon and stronger storms developing across the region for
the evening hours.

We have a strong south and southwest wind that is allowing the warm air and high moisture content to dominate the area. A trough off to the west has lots of energy rotation around it. It's this energy that will trigger thunderstorms as it approaches the area. The area shaded in red is where we are forecasting to possibility of severe weather. We are forecasting frequent lightning, times of heavy rain, damaging winds over 40 mph, a slight chance for hail, and even some slight rotation that could possibly spark a very isolated tornado. Keep it tuned to 40/29 TV and 4029tv.com for all your local weather updates and explanations on exactly what is going on, why it's taking place, and how you can stay safe. You can count on the 4029 SuperDoppler Weather Team to "KEEP YOU ADVISED" during severe weather.
