It sounds crazy, right? Thunderstorm chances in January. It's a strong possibility as we move into early next week. A strong trough of low pressure will make it's way to the region out of the west Sunday night through Wednesday morning. Here is a look at what the GFS weather model is thinking for Wednesday morning. We are looking at some heavy rainfall totals near 3 inches over a 6 hour period. With our temperatures being so warm and a large increase in moisture, we have a chance to get some thunderstorms, also. A few of these thunderstorms could be strong with frequent lightning, hail, and strong winds. Of course if any of this weather turns severe, you can always count on the 40/29 Super Doppler Weather Team to keep you safe!
