A relatively mild start to the day will quickly change as a cold front moves in from the northwest. This is a visible satellite picture from 10 a.m. I have drawn in the surface front over the picture. Behind the front are winds gusting over 30 mph out of the NW!

Notice the stratocumulus deck that forms within the region of cold air advection; moreover, temperatures will continue to fall this afternoon with the loss of daytime heating and the cold air advecting in from the west.
