A FEW MORE DAYS!

We only have to wait a few more days before we get rid of this cold air and replace it with warm air. The Polar Jetstream will slowly move to the north as we arrive into the weekend. Remember, the Jetstream is the strong flowing river of air in the upper levels that acts as a climate divider. This movement of the Jetstream, called ridging, will allow warm air to enter the region and it will be here in time for the weekend. Weekend high temperatures will be near 30° warmer than our afternoon highs today. I don't know about you, but that is something to look forward to. An area of low pressure building over the southwest will be here by Sunday night and that will give us a chance for precipitation. Due to the very warm weather this precipitation event will be in the liquid form. Not bad for early January.
