Enjoying The Rockies.......

I was able to spend New Year's in the beautiful mountains of Colorado with my wife Adrienne. She and I met our friends Brent and Heather in Keystone to do some skiing. What a wonderful way to start out 2008.

I've skied Montana and British Columbia, but this was my first trip to Colorado. We're both ready to get back. Here's some advice for those of you looking for the winter snow, just head west my friend!

The weather was frigid for the first 2 days. Winds gusted over 40 mph creating wind chill values well below zero! Fortunately, fresh snow did fall, so we did get the benefit of several inches of fresh snow.

The third day of skiing turned out to be the best with a clear blue sky and temperatures in the 20's. Take a look at some of the pictures from the trip.

This was one of my favorite black runs called Timberwolf. My thighs were burning hitting these bumps. It was pretty steep, but at least I didn't encounter ice. The run was real quiet as you took off in and out of the trees.

I was bummed having to leave Keystone; however, on our way home, I snapped these awesome mountain wave clouds on the way to Denver. These are what you call lenticular clouds which are created by atmospheric waves over the mountains.
