7:30 P.M. Severe Weather Update
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for NE OK and NW AR until 1:00 a.m. Showers and storms have developed with the heat of the afternoon along with outflow boundaries left over from this morning's convection. These storms have the history of pea to nickel size hail and gusty winds to 60 mph. Since the upper level winds are light, heavy flooding rainfall will also be possible. Make sure you stay indoors until the storms have passed.
These storms should begin to weaken after the setting of the sun. More thunderstorms are possible late tonight into Saturday ahead of a cold front.
