6:00 P.M. Update

We're quiet thanks to a CAP in place in the upper levels of the atmosphere; however, showers and storms will be developing over the next couple of hours across central Oklahoma along the dryline. The storms this evening with start out surface based, and will have the best chance to contain isolated tornadoes. A tornado watch has been issued just to the west of our viewing area, and our thinking is that most of the severe weather this evening will stay out of our area.

The best chance for storms across the 40/29 viewing area will occur after 10 p.m. along and ahead of a cold front to our NW. Storms will be elevated, creating more of a large hail/damaging wind threat for us overnight. We'll continue to update you throughout the evening.
